Health Screening in Melbourne

Medically reviewed by Dr David Badov, Medical Director, MBBS FRACP

HealthScreen in Melbourne combines targeted MRI, a 100+ biomarker blood panel, ECG and ultrasound screening into a single on-site day at our Hampton East clinic, with results reviewed by your physician two weeks later.

What’s included, and what it costs

ProgramIncludesPrice
HealthScreen ProgramPhysical exam, targeted MRI, 100+ biomarker panel, ECG, carotid and thyroid ultrasound, CT calcium score if indicated$3,500
HealthScreen Platinum ProgramEverything above, plus body composition analysis, microbiome test, biological age test (GrimAge) and genetic panel of 167 cancer and cardiac genes$5,900

Both include a 14-day physician follow-up. Medicare and private health insurance rebates don’t apply, consistent with all of HealthScreen’s services.

How to choose the right level of screening

The HealthScreen Program suits most people wanting comprehensive baseline screening. Platinum is worth considering if you specifically want body composition tracking, biological age testing or deeper genetic risk screening in the same visit, rather than booking these as later add-ons.

Your day, step by step

  1. Arrival and consult: physical exam and medical history at 336-338 South Rd, Hampton East VIC 3188 (secure valet or undercover parking on-site).
  2. Biomarker testing: blood draw, ECG and urine analysis (fast from midnight the night before).
  3. Imaging: targeted MRI of the head, neck, abdomen, pelvis and prostate (for men), ovarian and uterine (or women); carotid and thyroid ultrasound, CT calcium score if clinically indicated.
  4. Results, two weeks later: a dedicated 14-day physician follow-up, in person or via telehealth, with a written report you can share with your GP.

Common mistakes

  • Not fasting before the appointment, which affects blood glucose and lipid results.
  • Assuming Medicare or private health cover applies. It doesn’t, for the same reason these programs sit outside standard reactive-care billing codes.
