A routine GP health check covers blood pressure, weight and a standard blood panel across one or two short appointments. Executive medicine at HealthScreen replaces that with a single 3 to 4 hour on-site session combining Targeted MRI, a 100+ biomarker panel, a CT calcium score where clinically indicated, carotid and thyroid ultrasound, and a dedicated physician consultation 14 days later. These aren’t two versions of the same thing, one is routine monitoring, the other is a comprehensive screening sweep.
What does a standard GP health check include?
A typical GP check covers: blood pressure and weight, a physical exam, a routine blood panel (cholesterol, glucose), and a short consultation, usually 15 to 30 minutes. A GP check is generally used to diagnose a specific problem based on symptoms already present, rather than screen broadly for early, asymptomatic risk.
What does HealthScreen’s executive program include?
HealthScreen’s executive program comes in two tiers: the $3,500 HealthScreen Program and the $5,900 Platinum Program, both built around a single screening day, including diagnostic scans and pathology testing, rather than a series of separate appointments.
| The HealthScreen Program | The HealthScreen Platinum Program | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $3,500 | $5,900 |
| Diagnostic day | Medical history + physical exam 100+ biomarker blood & urine panel ECG, CT calcium score*, Targeted MRI Carotid and thyroid ultrasound | Same, plus: InBody body composition scan Gutlinx microbiome test GrimAge biological age test 167-gene cancer/cardiac panel 1 nutrition assessment appt |
| First month | 14-day follow-up physician consultation | Same |
| Optional full year (+$600) | Three nutrition consultations, 12-month physician review | Same |
| Payment | Afterpay available (orders up to $4,000) | Afterpay available (orders up to $4,000) |
*If clinically indicated.
How do the two approaches compare directly?
| Standard GP check | HealthScreen executive program | |
|---|---|---|
| Format | 1-2 short appointments | Single 3-4 hour on-site session |
| Imaging | Not typically included | Targeted MRI Carotid and thyroid ultrasound CT calcium score* |
| Blood work | Basic panel | 100+ biomarker panel |
| Results review | Brief follow-up | Dedicated physician consultation, including a comprehensive report at day 14. |
*If clinically indicated.
Why does the format itself matter, separate from the business case?
The format matters because it changes what can actually be found, not just how convenient the appointment is. A single, physician-led session covering targeted imaging and a 100+ biomarker panel can surface things a standard GP check structurally can’t, whatever the cost-benefit case for offering it.
Read more about that business case, including lower absenteeism, tax-effective treatment for employers, better retention, in our Executive’s Guide to Preventative Health. This particularly benefits time-poor executives who might otherwise put off seeing a GP altogether.
When is a standard check enough, and when isn’t it?
Choose a standard GP check if: you’ve had a comprehensive check in the last 12 months, you’re low-risk with no relevant family history, and routine monitoring is genuinely enough.
Choose the HealthScreen executive program if: it’s been over 12 months since a comprehensive check, there’s a family history of cancer or cardiovascular disease, or fitting in three separate specialist appointments this quarter isn’t realistic.
“A standard health check is essentially an annual physical, and it hasn’t changed much in decades. Executive health has moved well beyond that: it’s a comprehensive, multi-modality assessment, imaging, cardiac risk investigations, genetic testing, microbiome analysis, delivered as a single physician-led day rather than a string of separate appointments. That format is what matters clinically: every result gets reviewed together, in context, by the same physician, rather than read in isolation by five different providers.”

FAQs
Does an executive health check replace my GP?
No, it’s a comprehensive screening sweep, not a replacement for ongoing GP care.
Is it exempt from Fringe Benefits Tax?
HealthScreen’s core diagnostics and physician follow-up are treated as an exempt fringe benefit under ATO Class Ruling CR 2026/38 when offered to employees (1 April 2026 to 31 March 2029).
