Heart Health Screening

Medically reviewed by Dr David Badov, Medical Director, MBBS FRACP

In Sydney, a health screening generally means one of three things: a routine GP checkup, a standalone diagnostic test booked separately (an MRI or blood panel on its own, which requires a GP referral), or a full, physician-led diagnostic program that brings multiple tests together in one visit. HealthScreen operates a private clinic in Sydney offering the third option, a same-day, 3 to 4 hour comprehensive assessment, rather than a series of separate bookings, part of HealthScreen’s wider health screening programs.

Where is HealthScreen’s Sydney clinic, and when did it open?

HealthScreen’s Sydney facility is located at Upper Ground, 725-731 George St, Haymarket NSW 2000. It opened in June 2025 as Australia’s most advanced preventative health facility, purpose-built with an MRI suite, a radiology and pathology clinic, multiple diagnostic testing rooms and consulting spaces.

At the launch, HealthScreen’s Founder and Medical Director Dr David Badov said: “By combining MRI technology, advanced imaging, genetics and biomarker testing, we can detect potential health concerns far earlier.”

FAQs

Is a full diagnostic program overkill if I feel fine?

Most of what these programs screen for has no early symptoms, that’s the reason for a comprehensive approach rather than waiting for a symptom to prompt a single test. Early detection can also lead to significantly better treatment outcomes when something is found.

Do I need a referral to book?

No, you can book directly here.

Does the Sydney clinic offer the same inclusions as Melbourne?

Yes. The Sydney clinic offers the same core inclusions as Melbourne: medical history and physical exam, a 100+ biomarker blood and urine panel, ECG, CT calcium score where clinically indicated, Targeted MRI, and carotid and thyroid ultrasound, plus the same 14-day physician follow-up.
